Ocala horse farm manager celebrates birthday in jail on stalking charges

Alfredo Lichoa

The manager of an Ocala horse farm was arrested Thursday – his 56th birthday – after he reportedly chased, harassed and threatened two of his employees.

One of the victims contacted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and told deputies that he and Alfredo Lichoa, of 4875 NW 83rd Terr., had gotten into an argument that morning. He said Lichoa was mad at another employee and said, “I’m going to kill him!”

The reporting victim said he drove to another part of the property and found the other victim and told him they both should leave until Lichoa calmed down. As they were leaving the training barn, Lichoa pulled up in his truck at a high speed and tried to block their car. The victims were able to get around Lichoa and were headed towards the gate when Lichoa cut through a field to block them again, a sheriff’s office report states.

The victims turned around and went in another direction while Lichoa continued to follow them. When they got to the gate, Lichoa got out of his truck and stood in front of their car, yelling, “I’m going to kill you (expletive deleted),” the report says.

The reporting victim said he feared for his life during the incident. He showed the deputy a cell phone video of the altercation, where Lichoa can be seen yelling, “I’m going to kill him,” several times, the report says, adding that the deputy noted that Lichoa appeared very hostile.

The other victim’s description of the incident matched the reporting victim’s account.
Lichoa told the deputy he “blew it” because he was mad that one of the victims was attempting to be sneaky and keep track of other employees, and the other victim wouldn’t let him talk to him. He said he followed them and tried to block them twice because he wanted to talk to them. He admitted saying he was going to kill them but said he didn’t mean it, the report says.

Lichoa was charged with two counts of aggravated stalking and taken to the Marion County Jail. He was released Friday on $20,000 bond. No court date has been set.
