Scratching and screaming Ocala woman jailed after bloodied man calls for help

Tracy Lynn Coca

An Ocala woman was arrested Thursday after a scratched and bloodied man attempted to retrieve some of his belongings from her residence.

When Marion County sheriff’s deputies arrived at the residence on SW 166th Loop, a man who was scratched on the right side of his neck and left ear said he wanted to get his belongings out 38-year-old Tracy Lynn Coca’s residence. He claimed that she “was intoxicated and was being very aggressive with him and had tried to attack him,” a sheriff’s office report states.

The man told deputies that his friend had used his cell phone to record a portion of the confrontation, which showed Coca allegedly attempting to strike the man. She was initially prevented from doing so by an eye witness and was then heard yelling and telling her dog to bite the victim, the report says.

The witness also told deputies that he was in-between the two and tried to prevent the physical altercation that ensued and left the victim scratched and bloodied, the report says.
A deputy noted the victim’s injuries, “which appeared to be a few hours old.” He also said the injuries “were consistent” with the accounts of what happened from both the victim and the witness, the report says.

Coca was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail. When they arrived at the detention facility, the deputy said that Coca kicked the door as he opened it to remove her from his patrol vehicle. He said the door struck him but he wasn’t able to prove that Coca’s intent was to hit him, the report says, adding that she then “became extremely uncooperative with jail staff.”

Coca, originally of New Jersey, was charged with domestic battery and held on $500 bond. She’s due in a Marion County courtroom on March 20 at 1 p.m. to answer to the charge.
