Obscenity-yelling man charged with violating bond and battering woman

Larry D. Hill

A Reddick man was charged with violating the conditions of his bond on a previous domestic battery charge when he allegedly showed up at the victim’s home and battered her again.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded Tuesday to a domestic disturbance report at a residence on NW 29th Terrace, where the victim said Larry D. Hill, 64, was not supposed to be due to the bond conditions of his arrest on Feb. 17. The deputies observed Hill approximately 100 yards away in an open field, yelling obscenities towards the victim.

Hill told the deputies he was getting clothes from the location to go to court. He said he went into the home where the victim was and never spoke to her or made contact with her, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim told deputies when Hill entered the home, he started yelling at her and said, “Today is the day you (expletive deleted) cracker. After court today there will be nothing keeping me from beating your ass after today,” according to the report.

The victim said Hill was forcefully pushing his chest up against hers and had her pinned up against the wall. She said this happened multiple times, and the last time he had her pinned, she freed herself and called 911. The victim said Hill allegedly threatened to kill her. Deputies noted the victim’s shirt was stretched at the neck from the incident but did not observe any injuries to her, according to the report.

A records search showed Hill was charged with domestic battery on the victim on Feb. 17 and a bond condition was that he could not come within one mile of the victim or he would be in violation. He also was convicted of battery in 1988 in St. Lucie County.

Deputies observed Hill within 100 yards of the victim and charged him with violation of a bond condition and domestic battery (second offense). He was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he remains held on $3,000 bond. His next appearance in Marion County Court is scheduled for May 7.
