Silver Springs man behind bars after terrified woman reveals social media threats

Ryan Austin White

A Silver Springs man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly threatened a woman through Facebook that he was going to beat and kill her.

Ryan Austin White, 26, of East Silver Springs Boulevard, was charged with aggravated domestic cyberstalking and intimidation by writing or sending threats to kill or injure. He was previously charged in August 2018 with aggravated battery on a pregnant woman.

The victim showed a Marion County sheriff’s deputy messages from White stating that when he gets home, he is going to beat her and put her in the hospital, and later that he is going to kill her. The victim said she was afraid and no longer felt safe at her residence. The messages came from a Facebook account with the name Ryan White, with his pictures on the profile, according to the sheriff’s office report.

A deputy located White later in the day and placed him under arrest. White told the deputy he never sent any threatening messages. He’s being held in the Marion County Jail on $1,500 bond and will appear in Marion County Court on May 7.
