Marion firefighters receive new inflatable boats designed for water rescues

Marion County Fire Rescue and members of Florida Urban Search and Rescue Task Force 8 recently took ownership of two rigid inflatable boats.

Marion County Fire Rescue and Task Force 8 have two new rigid inflatable boats that will be used for water rescues.

The boats will be used for rescues throughout the waterways of Marion County and while on deployment with the task force. The boats were purchased through the Marion County EMS Grant.

Task Force 8 is comprised of 27 specialists from Marion County Fire Rescue, Ocala Fire Rescue and Gainesville Fire Rescue. The group was activated in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael last year and deployed to the Panhandle area with about $1 million worth of equipment.
