Salsa Boricua as authentic Puerto Rican as food trucks come

Salsa Boricua is as authentic a Puerto Rican food truck as they come.

The food truck, which frequents Eat Street events at the Downtown Market Square, sells their food in and around Marion, Alachua, Hernando, Citrus, Pasco, Lake, and surrounding counties, as well as The Villages.

The menu is a representation of what one might encounter at every traditional Puerto Rican gathering or celebration, including pernil (roast pork), arroz con gandules (yellow rice and pigeon peas), empanadas (savory pastries), chicharron de pollo (fried chicken), carne frita (fried pork), and sandwiches, including a Cuban.
In addition to pernil, the truck offers Pollo Guisado (chicken stew), and a variety of daily specials.
According to the group’s Facebook page, you can find their truck on Highway 484, across  from McDonald’s and Popeyes.
