Tough-talking Ocala man charged with threatening women

Ronald Elijah Williams

A 50-year-old Ocala man accused of threatening two females in a domestic disturbance reportedly told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy, “You going to need a Glock to stop me; I don’t need one to stop you,” as he was being arrested Wednesday night.

One of the victims told a Marion County sheriff’s deputy that she had been involved in an altercation with Ronald Elijah Williams, who was still in the house, and that Williams locked her out of the residence, according to the sheriff’s office report.

While the deputy was talking to the victim, Williams came out of the home and started hollering across the cul-de-sac. The deputy heard Williams say there was going to be a “showdown.” The victim said there were several firearms inside the residence, the report said.

The deputy spoke with Williams in front of the residence. Williams was aggressive and refused to allow the deputy to pat him down for weapons, saying the deputy was going to need a gun to stop him. Williams then started walking towards his front door until the deputy ordered him to stop. When the deputy tried to place him in handcuffs, Williams briefly tried to pull away before complying, according to the report.

With Williams detained, the victim said he has been acting strange for several days since returning home from work out of state. She said she heard an altercation taking place between Williams and another female victim inside the office, and the second victim saying, “No, don’t hit me.” She said she entered the office and found the second victim crying, the report said.

The first victim said Williams stood up and charged her in an aggressive manner, and that she was in fear for her safety. She said she and the other victim ran out of the bedroom and out the front door, which is when Williams locked them out, according to the report.

The second victim said Williams was helping her with her homework when they got into an argument. She said Williams said something like, “This fist is coming to your mouth,” with his fist balled up in an aggressive manner. The second victim said she was in fear during the altercation, the report said.

After being read his Miranda rights, Williams told the deputy, “For a split second there, it would have been a long night for both of us.” He denied threatening the second victim, explaining that he said, “If you want to see this fist, go in there and embarrass me again,” referring to an incident at school. In reference to the first victim’s statement that he charged at her, Williams said it didn’t happen and that he never even got out of his chair, according to the report.

Williams was charged with two counts of simple domestic assault (threat to do violence) and taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was being held Thursday night on $1,000 bond. He’ll answer to the charges in Marion County Court on Nov. 7.
