Ocala woman arrested after ending up in broken glass with guy pal

Kayleigh Anika Robertson

A 21-year-old Ocala woman with a previous domestic battery arrest was jailed again after a spat with a guy pal ended with them both on the ground amid broken glass.

Kayleigh Anika Robertson, of 307 Oak Track Loop, was charged with dating violence (second or subsequent offense) after the incident, which happened Wednesday night at the victim’s residence on SE 61st Place. Robertson was previously arrested in August 2019 after an altercation in a motel.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy found Robertson sitting on a cooler in the garage with a laceration on her right leg that was still bleeding. She said the victim was inside the residence with a laceration to his left foot. Marion County Fire Rescue medics treated both for their injuries, according to the sheriff’s office report.

The victim said he and Robertson were hanging out in the garage and drinking alcohol. He said he went inside the residence to wash dishes and he noticed his bedroom light was on. The victim said he went back out to the garage to confront Robertson about leaving the light on, the report said.

The victim said he was standing in front of Robertson when she pushed him in the chest area, causing him to fall backwards. He said as he was falling, he grabbed Roberts to try and stop himself, and they both fell onto several glass bottles, causing them to break and injure them, according to the report.

Robertson said she and the victim were in an argument about the victim and other women when she pushed him. She said he started to fall backward and grabbed her to keep from falling. Robertson said they both fell onto the bottles, which broke an injured them. She admitted she pushed the victim because she was upset with him.

Robertson was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she was released Thursday on her own recognizance. She’s scheduled to appear in Marion County Court on June 2.
