Marion County Sheriff’s corporal, K-9 apprehend man after brief car chase

A Marion Count Sheriff’s corporal and his K-9 unit quickly apprehended a man who made a failed attempt to run when his vehicle was disabled after a brief chase.

On June 19, a K-9 unit with the Marion County Sheriff’s office spotted 33-year-old Gregory Lee Linder passing by the 1900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Having recognized Linder’s vehicle from previous encounters and knowing that his license and driving privileges are suspended, the deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Linder fled and a brief car chase ensued.

After six and a half minutes, the corporal successfully conducted a precision immobilization technique (PIT) maneuver and forced Linder’s vehicle off the road. Linder exited the vehicle and attempted to flee before he was chased down by K-9 Adelmo and bitten until disabled.
