Two men were killed in a single-vehicle crash on County Road 464C near SE 141st Terrace in Ocklawaha.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol’s incident report, a van was traveling west on County Road 464C earlier this morning at around 2:30 a.m.
The weather was foggy and the driver, a 50-year-old Keystone Heights man, was traveling at a high rate of speed.
He failed to navigate a curve in the road towards the right and left the roadway. The van rotated counterclockwise and began to overturn in the grass to the south.
While overturning, the roof of the van struck a large tree and became lodged.
The driver and the van’s only passenger, a 37-year-old Bell man, were both pronounced deceased on the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue.
The names of the victims were not provided, per FHP policy.
