No injuries reported after pickup truck crashes into school bus in Marion County

No injuries were reported after a pickup truck collided with a school bus in Marion County on Tuesday evening.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report, a 63-year-old Citra man was driving a school bus with 10 children on board at around 5:13 p.m.

The school bus attempted to turn left onto County Road 314 from a private driveway near NE 250th Court. A 67-year-old man and 69-year-old woman, both from Donalsonville, Georgia, were traveling east on County Road 314 in a pickup truck.

The pickup truck’s right of way was violated when the school bus began to turn onto the road. As a result, the front side of the pickup truck collided with the front of the school bus.

After the impact, and prior to the arrival of an FHP trooper, the school bus relocated to the private driveway and the pickup truck moved to the south grass shoulder of County Road 314.

Upon arrival on scene, the trooper observed front-end damage on the school bus, and the pickup truck’s passenger side mirror and door also sustained damage. There were no skid marks or debris on the road.

The names of everyone involved in the accident were not released, per FHP policy.
