Drivers can expect lane closures along NW 1st Avenue and NW 8th Street in Ocala beginning on Wednesday, May 4 through Friday, May 13.
The lane closures are due to storm structure installation. Partial lane closures will occur during all work phases, except for on Wednesday, May 4, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., when a full road closure will occur.
Drivers should anticipate interruptions to the regular flow of traffic where these projects will take place, and all necessary devices will be in place to redirect vehicle traffic.
The following detour routes should be used:
- Southbound traffic on NW 1st Avenue: Left onto NW 9th Street, right onto N Magnolia Avenue, right onto NW 8th Street, back onto NW 1st Avenue.
- Northbound traffic on NW 1st Avenue: Right onto NW 8th Street, right onto N Magnolia Avenue, left onto NW 9th Street, back onto NW 1st Avenue.
Construction will take place primarily on Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. During construction times, drivers may experience delays, noise, dust, and heavy equipment within the project areas.
