Good Time Bar & Grill in Belleview temporarily closed after health inspector finds roaches

The Good Time Bar & Grill in Belleview was temporarily closed last week after a health inspector observed roach activity inside the restaurant.

According to a health inspection report filed with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, the restaurant, which is located at 8921 E Highway 25 in Belleview, was temporarily closed on Tuesday, October 18 after an inspector found two violations involving the presence of roaches.

The report stated that three live roaches were found behind air conditioning pipelines, one roach was on the air conditioning unit, three live roaches were inside a cabinet containing condiments and plates, another roach was on the wall behind the prep table, and a roach was spotted inside a black metal cabinet.

The inspector observed one egg sack underneath the bar counter and two egg sacks on the floor behind the drink cooler. Dead roaches were also found throughout the restaurant, including two dead roaches on the floor behind the drink cooler at the bar area, a dozen dead roaches around the air conditioning unit at the entrance of the kitchen, and three dead roaches at the end of the cook line.

The restaurant was temporarily closed, and the inspector returned for a follow-up visit on Wednesday, October 19. The inspector noted in the report that two dead roaches were observed on the floor underneath the prep table.

One live roach was located on the air condition unit’s pipeline, three roaches were on the wall behind the prep table, and another roach was on the floor underneath the prep table. According to the report, an on-duty manager killed the live roaches and cleaned the area where the roaches had been observed.

The health inspector returned to the restaurant later in the day on October 19. After no further violations were found, the restaurant was permitted to reopen.
