Ocala, Magnolia Art Xchange to host ‘Art Outside the Lines’ Brunch this weekend

The City of Ocala, in partnership with Magnolia Art Xchange, will host an ‘Art Outside the Lines’ brunch event this Saturday, February 18, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The event will be held at the Magnolia Art Xchange, which is located at Ocala Union Station (531 NE 1st Avenue). In addition to brunch, the event will feature signature coffee drinks, guest art speakers, and a performance by Tasha Robinson of the Ocala Symphony Orchestra.

“Last year, our Beginning of Bolted Art event kicked-off with a brunch,” stated Laura Walker, Cultural Arts and Sciences Division Head. “The brunch and accompanying music by members of the Ocala Symphony Orchestra, along with presentations by artists and arts advocates, were well received, and we are bringing it back this year for Art Outside the Lines.”

“This event will be an excellent opportunity to tour recent additions to the City’s public art collection and to support Magnolia Art Xchange’s continued programming,” added Walker.

“Attendees can meet our resident artists and see their work,” stated Jesse Daugherty, Interim Director at the Magnolia Art Xchange. Daugherty is hopeful that this weekend’s event will raise awareness of MAX’s residency program while providing an opportunity for attendees to check out other events and services.

Tickets are on sale and include the following options:

  • Brunch Ticket: $30 online/$35 at the door – includes admission to the brunch.
  • Brunch/Tour Ticket: $35 online/$40 at the door – includes brunch and a guided bus tour of the city’s new public art.

According to the city, five dollars of every ticket sold will be donated to Magnolia Art Xchange’s artist-in-residency program. In addition, attendees will be able to purchase a chance-to-win ticket for an opportunity to win prizes, and the proceeds from these tickets will benefit MAX.
