MCSO: Man wanted for burglarizing vehicle in Ocala

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who allegedly burglarized a vehicle in Ocala and then used the victim’s Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card at a local gas station.

On Wednesday, September 13, at around 9 a.m., MCSO deputies responded to the 4300 block of NW 4th Circle in Ocala in reference to a vehicle burglary incident. Upon arrival, they made contact with the female victim who advised that she had received an alert stating that the personal identification number (PIN) on her EBT card had been changed, according to the sheriff’s office.

The victim told deputies that she was also notified that the EBT card had been used earlier that morning, at approximately 3:40 a.m., to make a purchase at the Circle K gas station located at 3550 N Highway 441 in Ocala.

MCSO stated that after the victim received the notifications regarding her EBT card, she discovered that her vehicle had been burglarized and her wallet was stolen. She informed deputies that the wallet contained her EBT card, credit cards, identification cards, and around $100 in cash.

Deputies responded to the Circle K on Highway 441 and viewed the convenience store’s video surveillance footage, which showed the male suspect (pictured below) using the victim’s EBT card.
