A new food truck that specializes in loaded french fries will soon begin serving Ocala and the surrounding communities.
Junkie Fries, LLC, will celebrate its grand opening on Sunday, October 1.
Owned and operated by husband and wife Cortney and Warrenita Brown, the new business is hoping to be open six days a week and will list its times and locations through social media.
As its name suggests, Junkie Fries serves up a variety of gourmet loaded french fries with a wide array of toppings. That includes steak, shrimp, southern fried chicken, pulled pork, and mac and cheese, among several others.
According to Mr. Brown, the motivation behind the business came during a family dinner conversation with his sons, who asked the entrepreneur if everyone in the world loved french fries as much as their family. Brown says his son Keilan mentioned that he would eat fries every day if given the choice, and his other son, Cortney, Jr., inquired about eating fries topped with “shrimp and steak.”
Brown says he and his wife decided then that they wanted to come up with a “unique and different” concept to bring gourmet fries to locals throughout the area.
“We felt that there was a need to have something unique, different, hot, and fresh in Ocala,” says Brown. He says he hopes to network with other organizations across the community and provide gourmet french fries during events across the area.
Junkie Fries joins several other businesses that have celebrated grand openings in Ocala this year, including multiple companies that have opened their doors this month.
On September 12, Pigtails & Crewcuts, a barbershop that specializes in haircuts for children, opened its first location in Ocala.
On September 2, J Marie Brands celebrated the grand opening of its new cheesecake shop in Ocala.
One day prior, Flame Indian Kitchen celebrated its grand opening along SW Highway 200.
Earlier this summer, Crave BBQ & Hot Dogs, Big Lee’s BBQ, Fat Boys BBQ, Sweet ‘N Savory Eats, Morelli’s Pizza and Subs, Ola Drive-Thru Coffee, Slice, and District Bar and Kitchen all celebrated grand openings.
