A national company that specializes in haircuts for children will open an outpost in Ocala thanks to two local parents.
Pigtails & Crewcuts will open its first location at 4414 SW College Road #1520 in Ocala’s Market Street of Heathbrook on Tuesday, September 12.
Owned by Daniel and Amanda Schmidt, the Ocala Pigtails & Crewcuts will provide the same stylized service as its sister locations across the country.
Unlike most traditional barbers, Pigtails & Crewcuts locations feature bright, vibrant designs and vehicle-shaped styling chairs. Each location focuses primarily on making haircuts “kid-friendly” and memorable.
“Our goal is to make the salon experience enjoyable for the entire family, customers tall and small, both parents and kids,” reads a statement from the company’s website.
Guests may play with toys, games, a wooden train, and even watch a movie as they get their hair cut.
“Parents love relaxing in an environment where every child – smiling or crying – is welcomed with open arms,” says the company.
The business offers kids haircuts for $22.95, bang cuts for $11.95, and shampoos for $9.95, among other services. In addition to haircuts, the business offers ear piercing, stylings, and “princess” and “pirate” packages, which allow for the children to dress up while they are getting their hair cut.
The new Ocala location joins dozens of others across the United States, including eight others in Florida that are in various stages of opening.
