Marion County announces department and facility closures for Thanksgiving holiday

Marion County has announced that multiple departments and facilities will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.

According to a press release from the county, the departments and facilities overseen by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners will observe the following schedules this week:

  • Wednesday, November 22: All county library locations will close at 6 p.m., and they will resume typical operating hours beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 25.
  • Thursday, November 23 (Thanksgiving): All county administrative offices, public libraries, Solid Waste facilities (Baseline Transfer Station and recycling centers), as well as park and recreation facilities will be closed.
  • Friday, November 24: All county administrative offices and public libraries will be closed. Solid Waste facilities will resume typical operating hours beginning at 7 a.m. All parks and recreation department facilities will be open from sunrise to sunset with the exception of the Forest Community Center, which will be closed.
  • Saturday, November 25: All county park and recreation department facilities will be open from sunrise to sunset. County public libraries will resume typical operating hours beginning at 10 a.m.

All Marion County offices, facilities, and services will resume their typical operating hours on Monday, November 27.
