390-room hotel, 80,000 sq. ft. event center highlight ongoing WEC projects

The World Equestrian Center released additional details about some of its expansion projects, including a new 390-room hotel and 80,000-square-foot event space.

On Tuesday, WEC released a brief video preview of some of the changes that are taking place at the facility, which is located at 1750 NW 80th Avenue in Ocala.

The video shows glimpses of The Riding Academy, which will feature 390 pet-friendly guest rooms. Approximately 250 suites will be available to accommodate families and teams, according to the organization.

The new hotel will also feature a tack room and gourmet market, as well as an outdoor pool, a splash pad, a sun deck, and dual fitness centers.

The hotel will also feature expansive, upscale accommodations with separate sleeping and living quarters, as well as multiple in-room amenities including coffee makers, refrigerators, and pull-out sofa sleeper beds.

In addition to the hotel, the video also briefly previewed the new event center at the venue, which will offer 80,000 square feet of flexible event space, a grand ballroom, and four additional restaurants.

The video also made reference to The Shoppes Off 80th, a collection of over two dozen shops that will feature high-end vendors.

The facilities are scheduled to begin opening over the coming year, with The Riding Academy Hotel targeting this Spring.
