Flames engulf mobile home in Fort McCoy

Marion County firefighters battled a fire on Tuesday evening that destroyed a mobile home in Fort McCoy.

Shortly before 5:55 p.m., Marion County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the 15000 block of NE 154th Lane in Fort McCoy after receiving reports of a mobile home fire.

A 911 caller had advised that “smoke and flames were coming out of the house,” according to MCFR.

A large black column of smoke was visible in the area as multiple MCFR units responded to the residence.

Upon arrival, MCFR crews observed a mobile home that was fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters gained access to the home through a gated fence and immediately deployed hose lines to combat the fire.

The fire was eventually called under control at 7:48 p.m.

According to MCFR, the cause and origin of the fire is currently under investigation.

There were no injuries reported.
