A new Greek restaurant chain with locations across two dozen states is currently building out its first location in Ocala, just a couple of doors down from the new Crumbl Cookies.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill is currently working on a new location at the Market Street at Heath Brook (4414 SW College Road).
Located in suite 316 at the shopping plaza, Great Greek will take over a space formerly occupied by Pie-O-Mine & Greens, which closed its doors last October.
The restaurant chain serves up popular Greek appetizers, dips, sandwiches, platters, entrees, and desserts. That includes classic dips like hummus and tzatziki, as well as appetizers like spanakopita, which is a puff pastry filled with spinach and feta cheese.
The restaurant also features various souvlaki options, falafel plates, and gyros. For dessert, Great Greek serves up baklava, rice pudding, and baklava ice cream.
There are currently 12 operational Great Greek Mediterranean Grill locations in Florida, with several others in the works.
The company operates multiple restaurants in at least 21 other states, including seven locations in California and five more announced for that state.
Both Great Greek and Ocala’s first Crumbl Cookies, which is situated just two doors down in suite 326, are in the midst of building out their spaces. Neither business has publicly announced an opening date.
When they open, the two businesses will join multiple others that have opened their doors at Market Street at Heath Brook over the past year, including Pigtails & Crewcuts and Zuru Ramen Boba.
