Bomb testing continues at Ocala National Forest this week

The United States Navy will continue testing bombs at a site within the Ocala National Forest this week.

Live and inert bombing will take place at the Pinecastle Range Complex within the forest.

According to the Navy’s schedule, bombs will be tested on Tuesday, April 23, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Wednesday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Over the last several weeks, residents have reportedly heard sounds all around the city from the bomb blasts.

The Navy advises anyone who is traveling in or around the Ocala National Forest to use extra caution and to be on the lookout for temporarily displaced wildlife.
