Ocala Fire Rescue is offering a free cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) class this week that is open to all residents of Marion County.
The non-certificate class will be taught by OFR at the agency’s building (1801 SE 32nd Ave. in Ocala) from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23.
According to a press release, the Ocala Fire Rescue hopes to use the event to encourage individuals and families to work toward a “healthier and well-prepared community” by employing preventative measures toward heart disease, like learning CPR.
Participants attending the class should expert to learn:
- Hands-only CPR;
- How to correctly operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED); and
- How to assist choking victims.
The class is free and open to all Marion County residents.
