Born on April 4, 1949, to Martin and Thelma McCants in Perry, FL. Rebecca’s life was a testament to faith, family, and the simple joys that make life meaningful. Throughout her journey, she radiated warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those whot knew her. Rebecca’s educational path led her through Howard High School, where she graduated with the class of 1966, and further to Central Florida Community College, where she pursued her thirst for knowledge and personal growth.

In her professional life, Rebecca served with dedication and grace. From her early days as a secretary at Fessenden Elementary to her role as a dispatcher at Super Transport Trucking, she approached her work with integrity and a willingness to lend a helping hand. Beyond her professional endeavors, Rebecca found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether tending to her cherished plants or embracing the camaraderie of exercise classes, she infused each moment with a contagious enthusiasm and genuine zest for life.

Rebecca’s greatest treasure was her family, whom she loved dearly. She leaves behind cherished memories with her family: Martin W. McCants Jr., Glenn O. McCants (Judy), Cheryl Wesley (Don). Special recognition is extended to Christopher McCants, Tremayne McCants, Trina McCants, and Shawnetta Alexander, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special friendships, including those with Gloria Davis, Ben and Roz Wilson, and Elaine Thompson.

On April 16, 2024, Rebecca Lee McCants embarked on her final journey, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and enduring kindness. Though she is reunited with her parents, Martin and Thelma McCants, her brother Alvin G. McCants Sr., and nephews Javon L. McCants and Roosevelt “Neil” Alexander, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by her warmth and compassion. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who mourn her passing.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Paul AME, located at 718 NW 7th St. in Ocala.
