Construction crews are making steady progress at the site of a new assisted living facility in east Ocala, which first broke ground over two years ago.
Hampton Manor is currently under construction at 1700 NE 46th Court, next to the Lowe’s on East Silver Springs Boulevard.
The new facility will be over 60,000 square feet and will be large enough to house at least 90 residents, according to building permit records.
The building is being constructed by ALF Contracting LLC, a construction and general contracting firm based in Punta Gorda, Florida. ALF has built several assisted living facilities around Florida, Michigan, and Virginia.
City building records show that the site has been inspected dozens of times. The developer applied for a permit extension through December 2024 after the permit expired in September 2023.
“Building owner has now secured financing to continue the project,” reads a permit extension request filed with the city of Ocala building division.
Additional records show that at one point, a geotechnical engineer assigned to the project recommended repairs to the foundation of the building after observing slab undermining.
Hampton Manor joins several ongoing residential and commercial development projects in east Ocala, including Emerson Pointe and Millwood Estates, two new single-family home communities, and a new Breakfast Station in Pearl Britain Plaza.
