A new pizza chain that has been expanding its footprint throughout the United States just opened its first location in Ocala.
Stoner’s Pizza Joint officially opened for business at 4901 E Silver Springs Boulevard, Suite 101, on July 31. The new restaurant took over the former location of Pronto Pizza Express, within Six Gun Plaza.
As part of its brand, Stoner’s Pizza Joint uses marijuana-themed names for its dishes, including “munchies,” or appetizers, like it’s “spicy pep-n-rollie,” desserts like their “half-baked chocolate chip cookies,” and salads, which are referred to as “quality greens.”
Founded in Charleston, South Carolina in 2013 by Jim and Angie Smith, there are currently 49 Stoner’s Pizza Joint locations in operation across the country as of this month.
Since Ocala-News.com first announced the new Stoner’s Pizza in Ocala, at least seven other locations have also opened across the country.
According to its website, the company plans to reach 100 franchises by the end of next year.
Stoner’s Pizza Joint is open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. It is open until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
