A diner that operated out of a well-known, decades-old establishment along East Silver Springs Boulevard has permanently closed its doors.
Silver Springs Diner has officially closed the doors on its location at 5300 E Silver Springs Boulevard, within the Silver Springs Plaza.
According to a former staff member and vendor, the business closed its doors in mid-January. Staff was notified the night before the closure. A call to the business went to an unanswered voicemail and multiple reviews online show that customers have been unable to visit the restaurant for several weeks.

The business was previously owned by Brendan and Jeremiah Coonce, a father and son, along with their wives and children.
According to their website, the Coonce family took ownership of the new location and converted it into the current diner a few years ago.
The ownership had passed hands before it’s closure to Richard Vaughn in April of 2024, according to staff at the restaurant.
Before it closed, the diner offered traditional American fare for breakfast, lunch, and, most recently, dinner. That includes things like pancakes, waffles, and other breakfast dishes, as well as Southern classics like biscuits and gravy and chicken and biscuits.
Billed as “Ocala’s Only 1950s Diner,” the closure of another well-known business in Marion County comes just weeks after Cactus Jack’s closed its doors after a multi-decade run.
