Although Trader Joe’s announced that it will open 21 more locations soon, none of the new grocery stores will be situated in or around Ocala and Marion County.
According to the California-based grocery store chain, at least 21 locations will be “opening soon” across the United States, with multiple locations slated for western and the northeastern parts of the country.
The complete list of cities where new stores are opening is as follows:
- Boston/West Roxbury, Massachusetts
- Glenmont, New York
- Staten Island, New York
- Woodbridge, New Jersey
- Berwyn, Pennsylvania
- Exton, Pennsylvania
- Rockville, Maryland
- Washington, DC (2)
- Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
- Hoover, Alabama
- New Orleans, Louisiana
- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
- San Antonio, Texas
- Westminster, Colorado
- Yucaipa, California
- Sherman Oaks, California
- Tarzana, California
- Northridge, California
- Tracy, California
- Bellingham, Washington
Earlier this year, Trader Joe’s updated its website to reflect the grand openings of 12 additional locations in 2025. At the time, all of the stores announced opened in California (3), Washington (2), Tennessee, Pennsylvania, New York, Alabama, Maryland, and Washington, DC (2).
Ocala and Marion County were not included on that list.
Currently, the Trader Joe’s locations nearest to Ocala are situated in Winter Park, Orlando, and Gainesville.
Trader Joe’s company regularly updates its website with new locations that are “opening soon.”
Since 2024, ProgressiveGrocer.com reports that Trader Joe’s opened around 34 locations across the United States in 2024. As of April 22, Trader Joe’s operates around 608 stores in the country. That includes over 200 grocery stores in California.
