A Roses location in southwest Ocala will close its doors in the coming weeks to be rebranded as a new Big Lots, just a few months after all of the Big Lots locations in Ocala closed their doors.

Roses will close its location at 8445 SW State Road 200 in the coming weeks. Situated across from the new Sprouts that opened in Corta Commons on July 12, the store will be rebranded into a Big Lots.

Although there is no established opening date for the new Big Lots location, similar conversions at stores across the state of Florida have generally taken anywhere from eight to twelve weeks. Accordingly, the new store should reopen sometime this fall, before the end of the year.

Big Lots officially closed its locations in Ocala earlier this year, as part of a nationwide transition that saw the closure of hundreds of locations.

In addition to the Roses location on SR 200, there is a second Roses store in Ocala along NE 14th Street.

Last December, Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, LLC, the company that owns Roses, stepped in to save hundreds of Big Lots stores that were among 1,000 scheduled to close.

Before it closed, Big Lots operated three locations in Ocala at 2653 E Silver Springs Boulevard, 6851 SE Maricamp Road, and 8602 SW Highway 200, with the latter being less than a mile from where the new Big Lots will be built.
