A new Winn-Dixie officially opened its doors in Ocala last weekend, marking the completion of a major conversion of the last Harveys Supermarket in Marion County.
The store, located at 3435 N Pine Avenue, was celebrated with a grand opening event on Saturday, March 28, that featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a special $1,000 check presentation to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Foundation and Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches.
The celebration also included an early bird giveaway where the first 100 customers in line received mystery gift cards valued between $10 and $100. Throughout the day, the celebration continued with live DJ entertainment, product sampling, and activities for children.
Attendees also participated in hourly raffles for grand prizes such as a $500 gift card, a smoker, a YETI cooler, a Blackstone grill, and other items.
With the change, Winn-Dixie now operates three locations across Ocala. In addition to the new location, there are two other Winn-Dixie grocery stores in the Ocala area at 7131 N U.S. Highway 441 and 15912 E Silver Springs Boulevard.
The closure marks the end of the Harveys Supermarket brand’s run in Marion County. Over the past two years, the brand has seen its footprint continually shrink across the state.

In fact, two Harveys Supermarkets in Jacksonville will shut down in the coming weeks and two other Harveys Supermarkets in the same area are currently being converted into Winn-Dixie locations.
Despite the opening of the new Winn-Dixie, that brand has also seen its locations change hands multiple times over the past two years.
A new ALDI replaced a former Winn-Dixie location in Marion Oaks last June and, more recently, a Walmart Neighborhood Market replaced another old Winn-Dixie in southeast Ocala in January 2026.
