To the Editor:
When I was a little girl, I remember traveling to Winn-Dixie with my grandmother, who called it quick check. I remember her being so excited!
When I got older, I too would get excited when I entered into a Winn-Dixie parking lot, whether I was in Leesburg, Umatilla, or Tavares.
I live in south Marion County in The Villages area, where all Lake County Winn-Dixie’s have closed their doors. That includes Tavares, Umatilla, Leesburg, and two in The Villages that I’m being told is being replaced with ALDI’s.
Have they lost their minds?!
I can’t get excited anymore without traveling to another county, which will be Sumter County, Wildwood, or further north in Ocala.
I’m sure I’m not the only one disappointed by this. Hopefully there will be more stories for me to confirm this.
