Over 560 acres of farm land in northern Marion County was just acquired for $4.6 million by a group that has a track record of developing large plots into residential communities.

According to a deed filed with the Marion County Clerk of Courts, the 561.32-acre property, which is comprised of five parcels, was sold by St. Joe Farm LLC to Speir Property LLC, Terry Myers, and Julee Brooke Lewis, for $4,600,000 on April 30.

The five parcels all vary in acreage, with the smallest accounting for 4 acres and the largest accounting for 230. The other parcels are 21.32, 130, and 176 acres in size.

Although the site does not have a registered address, the parcels are located in Anthony, east of NE Jacksonville Road, north of NE 102nd Lane, and a little south of NE 120th Street.

Although there is no confirmation as to what is planned for the multi-acre site, the company has previously acquired large acreage for the purposes of residential development.

In November 2024, the Savannah Agenda reported that Speir Property, LLC, was given approval to develop a large-scale, residential development on a 668-acre site in Savannah, Georgia.

The large-scale acquisition is one of several that have occurred in Marion County this year.

An equestrian who competed at the last Olympics sold her 60-acre horse farm in west Marion County for $4.45 million on April 22.

The owners of the World Equestrian Center acquired a multi-acre horse farm next to their property for $4.5 million on April 21.

Less than 10 days prior to that sale, a different 24-acre horse farm in northeast Marion County was sold for $1.45 million.

In March, an equestrian granddaughter purchased 85 acres of a multimillion dollar ranch from her grandfather for $1.5 million.
