After closing last year following failed health inspections, the only Bojangles in Ocala is officially reopening its doors to the public this week.

Bojangles will reopen its location at 4828 SW College Road at 5 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, according to a press release issued by the company.

To mark the reopening, the restaurant will offer a one hundred dollar gift card to its first 100 dine-in customers. It is also running a sweepstakes on its website to give ten customers free breakfast for a year.

The reopening of the city’s sole Bojangles comes after the facility underwent a four hundred thousand dollar renovation.

In January, the restaurant was granted a building permit for major interior and exterior alterations.

The work included new floor finishes, updated furnishings, new exterior signage and awnings, and a complete replacement of the kitchen and drive-thru equipment.

The Ocala location originally opened in 2018. It was forced to close in April 2025 after failing multiple health inspections, which eventually led to a sign being posted on the door announcing a closure for repairs and remodeling.

Following the closure and subsequent renovations, the restaurant is now operating as a company-owned location.

Inside, the remodeled restaurant features a viewing area where customers can watch biscuits being prepared, along with updated decor. The menu will focus on all-day breakfast and boneless chicken options, including chicken sandwiches and tenders.

Ahead of the public opening, the company hosted a private event on June 4 to honor local first responders. Police officers, firefighters, and medics were invited to a special biscuit cutting ceremony with city officials and company representatives.

The Ocala restaurant is the company’s eighth location in the greater Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Melbourne market. Founded in North Carolina in 1977, the chain currently operates over 870 company-owned and franchised locations across 23 states.

The recent trend of extensive remodeling is not unique to the Ocala branch. A Bojangles location in Sanford that originally opened in 2022 closed and then reopened after its own lengthy closure for similar renovations.
