The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company has officially concluded its final major juvenile auction of the year, generating roughly $28 million in total sales over a three-day event that set a new record mark for June through the $1.4-million sale of a horse related to a Triple Crown winner.
The 2026 June Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age Sale cemented its place in the record books this week.
Located at 1701 SW 60th Avenue in Ocala, the Ocala Breeders’ Sales June event occurred on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

The largest transaction of the event belonged to Hip 428, a gray or roan filly by Triple Crown winner Justify. The horse was purchased by Speedway Stables for $1.4 million, becoming the highest-priced horse ever sold at an OBS June sale.
The sale surpassed the previous June record of $975,000, which was established just last year when a chestnut Curlin filly named Feminism sold to Gus King.
Consigned by Jesse Hoppel, the record-setting filly tied for the fastest quarter-mile breeze during the third day of the under-tack shows, crossing the line in :20 4/5. She is out of the stakes-winning Rockport Harbor mare Harbingerofthings and is a half-sister to graded stakes winners Tell Your Daddy and Dynadrive.
According to Hoppel, the million-dollar filly was originally intended to be sold earlier in the spring during the March or April auctions, but she was pointed to the June sale after sustaining a minor shin injury in a paddock accident. Marette Farrell, an advisor to Speedway Stables, noted that the filly’s size, muscle, and presence were key factors in the team’s decision to stretch their budget during a protracted bidding war that started at just $20,000.
The overall $28 million generated during this year’s three-day sale outpaced the 2025 OBS June Sale, which saw 502 horses sold for a combined $25.6 million.
Driven by a highly competitive buying base, OBS logged more than $185 million in total sales across its March and April events alone.
That historic spring run was highlighted by a record-setting April auction that produced an all-time organizational record transaction when Zedan, a son of Flightline, sold for $10.5 million.
