The highly anticipated Camp Margaritaville Resort Orange Lake is preparing for its official debut with a ribbon-cutting and soft opening this week.
The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, June 26, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the luxury RV and cottage resort, which is located at 18365 NW 45th Avenue Road in Citra.

The island-inspired resort spans 150 acres and offers 430 RV sites alongside 60 vacation cottages.
The highlight of the project is the Fins Up Falls Waterpark, which features a large pool, interactive splash pads, a lazy river, and multiple water slides.

The site also features multiple amenities designed for both travelers and local visitors. The Fins Bar & Chill restaurant and a poolside tiki bar serve island-inspired cuisine and hand-crafted cocktails and for guests traveling with pets, the Barkaritaville Dog Park provides a dedicated social space.

Earlier this year, the Marion County Board of County Commissioners approved a major request allowing local residents public access to the resort’s premium amenities.
Under the approved terms, the general public can purchase day passes to access the water park and restaurant, provided there is availability.

The resort will offer a maximum of 840 day passes at any given time, though these will only be sold when there are vacancies at the RV park. If all the RV spaces are occupied, no day passes will be sold.
Resort officials previously indicated that Marion County residents will receive a discount on day-pass pricing.
To handle the influx of day visitors, the developer, 8M Holdings, LLC, will utilize unoccupied RV lots for temporary vehicle parking.

The RV sites themselves feature level concrete pads and full hookups, while the vacation cottages blend traditional camping with modern luxuries like full kitchens and lofts.

Ocala-News.com was the first local news source to report about the new facility in January. Since then, the development team has noted that a previously reported 145-foot slide is actually not planned for the facility.

Planning documents for the complex confirm the slides stand approximately 40 feet high, fitting within the county’s existing height regulations.
