The sentimental item
A sentimental item that an Ocala resident found was reunited with its owner after they were notified through an article on Ocala-News.com of the item's existence.

A highly sentimental keepsake that was lost for years has been returned to its rightful owner after the individual read an article on Ocala-News.com about the item.

Tiffany Oscavich, who originally reached out to Ocala-News.com hoping to find the owner of a child’s memorial urn necklace, says she successfully connected with Maribel C. shortly after the initial story was published and forwarded among local readers.

According to Oscavich, a woman named Maribel C. contacted her via email to claim the item. Maribel conveyed that the necklace was made in honor of her late grandson, whose name, “Jackson Xavier,” is engraved in cursive script on the back of the pendant.

Maribel shared that the piece originally belonged to a family member who tragically lost it just two months after the young boy passed away.

The grandmother also noted that she and her daughter both possess matching versions of the memorial necklace. In fact, Maribel was wearing her matching pendant at the time she reached out to Oscavich to coordinate the return.

The circular pendant, which features a handprint and a small blue gemstone on the front, was recently discovered locally inside an envelope dated April 14, 2015. Oscavich previously suspected that the item might have been lost or found around that date and had remained unclaimed ever since.

Thanks to the community’s swift effort in sharing the article, the long-lost memorial piece finally made its way back to Jackson’s loved ones.

Oscavich expressed her gratitude to everyone who helped circulate the information, describing the successful exchange as a very happy homecoming for the family.
