Two children on bicycles were sideswiped by an automobile Tuesday morning in Hernando County.
Jennifer Lynne Martin, 25, of Spring Hill was driving a 2013 Honda Civic southbound on Ambassador Avenue, while two 9-year-old children, Kian Marchese and Benjamin Gumz, were riding their bicycles without helmets to J.D. Floyd Elementary School westbound on Dow Lane, according to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report. As Martin turned onto Dow Lane, her vehicle sideswiped the two children bicyclists, the report stated.
Both children were transported to Bayonet Point Hospital for minor injuries. Martin was ticketed for careless driving.
