A Marion County sheriff’s deputy responded to a residence located at 5834 NE Jacksonville Road around 2:50 p.m. in reference to a disturbance in progress, according to an MCSO arrest affidavit. While heading to the scene, the deputy was advised that Marsha Diane McCullough, 44, had left the scene, the report stated. Upon arrival, the victim advised that she has been having problems with McCullough, who is her next-door neighbor, and that McCullough was yelling and threatening the victim’s son as he was mowing the front yard. The victim told her son to get inside the house before any violence began. McCullough left the location in a white, 4-door Saturn and the victim tried going outside to get her license plate number for the 911 dispatcher. McCullough pulled backed into the yard, got out of the vehicle and shoved the victim, causing the victim to fall to the ground. She then got back into the vehicle and drove away when the victim retreated back into her home. The victim’s son witnessed the incident, according to the report.

The deputy returned to the incident location around 5:10 p.m. and made contact with McCullough, who denied touching the victim. McCullough was arrested on a charge of battery and was transported to the Marion County Jail. Bond was posted at $500.
