Two suspects sought in burglaries at Target, Best Buy, Dick’s in Ocala

Two suspects are being sought in burglaries at Target, Best Buy and Dick’s Sporting Goods in Ocala.

The Ocala Police Department responded early Thursday morning to three separate reports of burglaries at major retail stores on SW College Road.

“The suspects appear to be organized and it’s possible these burglaries were carried out by individuals residing outside of Marion County, utilizing Interstate 75,” said Ocala Police Department spokesperson Meghan Shay.

OPD is still seeking information from the Ocala/Marion community as the suspects may be local.

The burglaries occurred at:

• Target. At approximately 4:25 a.m., two black males attempted to break the front glass doors using a window punch tool. After unsuccessful attempts, they fled in a grey/silver vehicle.

• Best Buy. At approximately 4:30 a.m., two black males shattered the front doors and stole an assortment of phones, tablets, and headphones.

• Dick’s Sporting Goods. At approximately 4:45 a.m., Market Street Security discovered shattered windows during security rounds. The store manager was able to pull surveillance footage depicting two individuals; one dressed in all dark clothing and one wearing a red top. Stolen items appeared to include Under Armor and Nike apparel valued at $3,000 to $4,000.
