Coleman Victor ‘Vic’ Brumley

Coleman Victor ‘Vic’ Brumley

Coleman Victor ‘Vic’ Brumley 81, of Ocala, Florida went home to be with The Lord on September 24, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his children. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Brumley.

Vic was born on August 22, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Thomas and Eileen (Gilbert) Brumley. Vic proudly served in the US Navy from 1955 through 1978 and retired a Senior Chief Petty Officer. He served aboard five Naval combatants and completed two tours in Vietnam. He was the recipient of many awards including the Bronze Star Medal. He loved GOD, his country, his family and friends. Even after retiring from the Navy his commitment to service continued by supporting numerous veterans causes, memorials, and organizations, both locally and nationally. After retiring from the Navy Vic traveled the globe working in satellite technologies and cellular communications for over two decades.

He was a strong, principled leader in his work and life. He lived his life out loud and made no apologies for it. The twinkle in his eye, his booming laugh and gentle heart will be profoundly missed. He had the youthful energy and sense of adventure of a young boy, which lasted his lifetime.

Vic is survived by his son, Robert Brumley and daughters, Brittany Lauren and Tammy Jenkins; step-daughters, Susan Bensen and Linda Taggart; Sisters, Cheryl Oliveri and Vicki Wills; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Vic will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery with full honors.
