Dorothy Austin Warmack, 95, of Ocala, FL., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 22, 2018. She was born to Claude Lockhart Austin Sr. and Clyde Alma Fowler Austin on Easter Sunday, April 1st, 1923 in Hamlet, NC.
Preceded in death, beside her parents, was her oldest sister, Sara Catherine Matthews, her oldest brother, Claude L. Ausitn Jr., and her youngest brother, William Austin. She is survived by her daughter, Arla Rae Taylor, married to Don W. Taylor, of Ocklawaha, FL; her twin sister, Doris Austin Collum of Lawrenceville, GA and five nieces and three nephews and their children.
Dorothy’s family moved to Wildwood, FL when she was a bout two years old. She graduated form Wildwood High School, then moved to Tampa, FL to be near her oldest sister. There, she met her future husband, Arlis McCrea Warmack, who was stationed at MacDill Field Air Force base. In 1956, Dorothy moved to Ocala, FL, where she lived a productive life raising her daughter, serving the Lord and teaching Sunday School to children of all ages. She was employed with the City of Ocala, then proceeded with employment with Seminole Stores as a bookkeeper. At a later date, she was offered a position in retail to work at Belk-Linsey, where she worked until she retired. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Lidia Class at church, where she mat and made many good friends. The last four years of her life was spent wither daughter, as she became blind.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00am at Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church in Lynn, FL with Pastor Jared Buchanan officiating. Burial will be the Church Cemetery with a reception/luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Operation Blessing c/o CBN, 977 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, VA 23463-0001. Arrangements are under the artful care of Roberts Funeral Homes, Bruce East chapel.
