Ocala Fire Rescue crews were called to blaze in an abandoned house on Tuesday night.
Firefighters arrived at the house, located in the 1500 block of SW 23rd Ave., shortly before 6:30 p.m. En route to the blaze, the crew from Rescue No. 3 reported seeing a column of black smoke from State Road 200.
Crews from Engines No. 3, 4 and 7 also responded to the blaze, as did Tower No. 1 and Battalion Chief No. 22. They arrived on scene within three minutes of receiving the call and quickly began a defensive attack on the flames at 6:29 p.m. The fire, which started in the rear of the structure, was completely out by 6:37 p.m.
There were no injuries reported in the blaze. The cause of the fire hasn’t yet been determined. And crews from Marion County Fire Rescue and officers from the Ocala Police Department also responded to the incident.
