William L. Russell, 74, of Ocala, Florida passed away peacefully and surrounded by loving family on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Advent Health Ocala after complications from open heart surgery.
Bill was born on November 8, 1944 to William and Ella Russel in Rahway, New Jersey. Bill was proud of his military service, serving in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967. He was a lifelong Yankees and Giants fan, and loved animals, especially cats, but his greatest love was his wife of 27 years, Marilyn Russell.
Bill was pre-deceased by his brother, Stephen G. Russell; and sister, Marie Steets.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn, of Ocala, FL; his stepdaughter, Erin Byrne and son-in-law, Robert Holmqvist; his stepson, Michael Irwin and life partner, Patty Delvecchio; his granddaughters, Madeline Tremblay of Park Ridge, NJ and Toni Smith of Dunellen, NJ; nieces and nephews, Judi Cook, Sharon O’Hagan, Jacki Steets and Kevin Steets; and his trusted companion, Jonas the Cat.
A service celebrating Bill’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 10:00am at Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremation, 11250 SW 93rd Court Road, Suite #300, Ocala, FL 34481, 352-236-7813.
