Crews from Ocala Fire Rescue were called to a single-vehicle crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 on Tuesday night.
When a battalion chief and crews aboard Engine 4 and Rescue 6 arrived at the incident near Mile Marker 352 at 6:20 p.m., they discovered a semi-truck that had crashed through a guardrail into southbound traffic, with the cab rolled onto its side. The driver wasn’t injured.
Due to the truck’s position compromising traffic, all lanes of I-75 were closed. The impact during the rainy conditions also resulted in the semi’s fuel tank rupturing, which caused about 200 gallons of fuel to spill. State emergency officials were notified of the incident.
