A pedestrian was killed early Tuesday morning on Interstate 75 in Marion County.
The Ormond Beach man was walking northbound on the interstate, about a half-mile from Mile Marker 348, when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. The incident occurred about two miles south of State Road 200 in the early morning hours and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, a Florida Highway Patrol report states.
FHP troopers are searching for a 2014-15 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 WT (work truck edition) with damage to the front light headlight assembly and right front fender sections.
