Local ‘1 Million Cups’ networking group warns membership of potential COVID contact

The local One Million Cups chapter issued a statement to its membership on Thursday to warn of possible contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

The networking group, which is designed to provide feedback to startup companies in an open Q&A format, meets regularly on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. at the Ocala Downtown Market Square.

“We were notified this morning that an individual who attended 1 Million Cups Ocala yesterday tested positive for COVID-19 later in the day,” said the statement.

The individual that tested positive indicated that all those who came in contact directly would be notified separately.

The event, which is now held outdoors with chairs distanced at a minimum of 6 feet apart, was moved from its original location at the Power Plant Business Incubator (405 SE Osceola Ave).

The organization indicated that it would provide updates going forward. The next scheduled meeting is 9:30 a.m. on July 15.
