Charles Ronald Anthony, Sr.

Charles Ronald Anthony, Sr., 83, passed away at Cate’s Hospice House in Ocala, FL on Sunday, March 7, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born April 13, 1937 in Sasser Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Kate Rish Anthony, his brothers William and Kenneth Anthony, his son in law Ron Nieto and his son, David Anthony.

Charles is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances Chambliss Anthony sons Chuck Anthony and Robert Anthony (Mary) all of Ocala, Florida, daughter Eve Nieto of Tallahassee, brothers Joe Anthony (Frances) of Atlanta, and Richard Anthony (Beth) of Ocala, Florida, granddaughters Toni Guilfoil of Alabama, Amber Valladares of Tennessee, Megan and Danielle Anthony of Arcadia, and Emily Dobson (Wade) of Ocala, grandsons Ray Anthony of Ocala, Brett and Ryan Nieto of Tallahassee, 4 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

After high school, he became a route salesman for the Southern Bread Company which transferred him to Ocala, Florida in October, 1958. He retired after serving as an active duty recruiter for the Army National Guard in Florida.

Charles will be remembered and missed by many people. He liked to fish, go camping, garden, can vegetables, playing on his computer, spending time with family and friends.

A private family gathering will be held in Highlands Memorial Park Cemetery in Ocala. The family requests that remembrances be sent to Hospice of Marion County at PO Box 4860 Ocala, FL 34478. Arrangements are in the care of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home.
