There are people everywhere who take service people for granted, but majority of Villagers do not

To the Editor:

There will always be people who look at their situation and only see the negatives. Life is all about choices and the woman who wrote in saying that there would be no Villages without the service industry, obviously doesn’t understand how the world works. It’s her choice to work in the service industry in The Villages. If The Villages didn’t exist, this conversation would be moot.

It’s apparent that she feels Villagers take advantage of service workers. If that’s the case she needs to go into another field, perhaps construction which has provided the area with good paying jobs.

There are people in The Villages and elsewhere who take service people for granted but in my experience the majority appreciate the work these people do and reward them with a gratuity commensurate with their service.
