Construction rapidly progressing on new EMS station in Ocala

Construction on Marion County Fire Rescue’s new Emergency Medical Services (EMS) station is progressing at a rapid rate.

Located at 1400 SW 6th Avenue in Ocala, MCFR’s Ocala Central EMS station is an upgrade to their previous facility, which was built in 1960.

The new EMS station, Ocala Central, will provide patient transport service to citizens and visitors in the central and western areas of Ocala, as well as urban service areas outside of the city.

Built by Dinkins Construction and funded by the Penny Sales Tax, the six-bay station will allow for MCFR’s current fleet of medic units to operate there. There will also be room for future expansion.

Since the groundbreaking ceremony in October 2023, Construction crews have been hard at work as the Ocala Central facility takes shape.
