Silver Alert issued for missing 77-year-old man with dementia

Update: On Thursday afternoon, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office stated that Ronald Arthur Schor has been located and is safe.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Silver Alert for a missing 77-year-old man with dementia who failed to show up to a medical appointment on Wednesday afternoon.

On Wednesday, May 8, at around 1:15 p.m., Ronald Arthur Schor left his residence located in the 5200 block of SW 176th Avenue in Dunnellon. He had an appointment scheduled at a VA clinic in Ocala that afternoon, which he never made it to, according to MCSO.

At around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, Schor’s vehicle – a 2010 silver Nissan Titan with Florida temporary tag DPQ6397 – was seen heading southbound in the 7600 block of N Highway 41 in Manatee County.

When Schor was last seen, he was wearing faded blue jeans and a button-up gray shirt. He stands 6’2” tall, weighs 190 pounds, and has brown eyes and gray hair.

In addition to being diagnosed with dementia, the sheriff’s office stated that Schor is susceptible to “frequent seizures and falls.”
